Angry Tias and Abuelas of the RGV

Meet a bunch of tias and abuelas who decided to take matters into their own hands. www.angrytiasandabuelas.com  is an organization based in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas.

 

There is where you will find several types of issues with immigrants seeking asylum. Whether it's the men being held in detention centers while awaiting a hearing on their asylum cases, unaccompanied minors who are housed in a different detention center, or whole families living in tent cities just south of the U.S. border awaiting their asylum cases---some of them for more than two years---these angry aunts and grandmothers are advocating for them. 

 

From bringing awareness to the issues, rallying support from other local, national and international agencies, this group is making a real difference for these individuals fleeing their home countries due to violence and poverty.
